Simply South is hands down one of the best Indian restaurants in Dallas! The ambiance is inviting, and the food is outstanding. This is a fully vegetarian spot, but the flavors and variety are so rich that you won't miss the meat. If you're looking for authentic South Indian vegetarian food, Simply South is worth a visit. I'd like to return and try their famous dosa and other menu items next time!

I won't even try to remember all the things we ordered--to be quite honest, none of us had really had purely southern Indian food before and we didn't know what we were ordering anyways, so we just picked things that had little symbols next to them (that the restaurant indicated were favorites). And none of us are vegetarian, but we all fully enjoyed this purely vegetarian meal, and we were all so unbelievably stuffed by the end of it too! Top highlights for me were the garlic Naan, the saag paneer, and the panipuri. They do a phenomenal job with textures and flavors it's mindblwoingly good! And the restaurant is huge with ample seating, but they can get incredibly busy so either come early (early for dinner on this Friday night we went was like 6pm) or get ready to wait! Efficient service. Delicious Mango Lassi

Although I'm not vegetarian, I did enjoy the food very much. The food was more than satisfactory, and the servers were very accommodating and polite. The interior of the restaurant was very cute, but it was super bright inside- the fluorescent lighting was a bit jarring. Other than that, I would definitely come back to dine there in the near future.

Wow I was really impressed with this restaurant! As an Indian person, my expectations for Indian restaurants is really high. First be prepared to wait because this place is in high demand. The vibes of this place were great with pretty decor. We decided to get the benne masala and 3 in 1 thatte idly. The benne masala comes with a chutney tower which was delicious and unique. I liked that they had dishes that I had never tried. All the food we got was delicious and super filling. Highly recommend trying this restaurant!

Loved it. 5/5 stars. Quite busy on a Saturday evening but they were able to seat us outside after about a 15 minute wait. Could only sit outside as well due to having a dog. Dogs are allowed on the patio only. Seemed on the inside it was packed plus waitlist only from 6 PM - 9 PM. Extremely busy. Got a masala dosa, thali, and banana leaf briyani. All the dishes were excellent and the sambar was delicious. The desserts in the thali were a bit lackluster to be honest with Kheer and Pongal. Literally 2 lamest desserts in all of South Indian cooking. Boo. They could have done gulab jamun, halva, or burfi. The folks who got the briyani and dosa fi wished their plates. I destroyed my thali as well. It was a lot of food but enough for one grown man. Didn't leave feeling bloated or anything. Would give 5 stars but service was mediocre and we had to flag the server quite a few times for water, food, and bill. Will visit again and hope they can fix the service aspect for a 5 star visit!

We came here on a Wednesday night, and it was packed like a weekend, so we knew it had to be good! First off, the chutney tower--amazing! Place is worth trying out just for this! The menu had so many unique items, so we went for the ones that sounded the most interesting. We started with the Ulavacharu Idly. The idly was super soft, with amazing tamarind and tomato flavors. Then, we had the Malabar Parotta with Veg Kurma. The parotta was crispy on the outside, soft inside, and the kurma was just the right amount of savory. We also tried the Davangere Benne and Masala Dosa special, but honestly, you could skip this one. First dosa was basically an Uthappam loaded with butter. The second was the same but with potato masala inside. Overall, we loved the place and will definitely come back! Next time, though, we might stick to the classics.

Came for breakfast on a Sunday which it does get packed. So the best option is to come earlier otherwise you will be waiting in line. Got the 3 dish option. Sadly they didn't have maybe 1/3 of the menu options which was disappointing because I really wanted the Pogal. I got dosa, poha, and idli. All were fantastic. Fresh and seriously the best. Sambhar top notch! Filtered coffee - amazing too. Decoration and details were also so amazing. Loved this place. Will definitely be back.

This is one of the restaurants I come to once and cannot wait to come back again! Pros: + Huge variety of South Indian, Indochinese, and a few North Indian dishes + Huge portions - we ordered a biryani and one order was probably enough for 3-4 meals + Friendly staff + Easy parking + Great Service + Gorgeous interior Cons: - Food takes a little while to come out, but it's so amazing Just an FYI, this place makes food super spicy. So, great if you like spicy food. But, seriously, I order a level 4/5 spice at most places. I had to get a 1/5 spice here (I described it as mild, please make it for a baby). Yes, my mouth was on fire and I needed a Falooda to put the heat out IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC
